What?

  • Designed and built a wearable Iron Man–style helmet with integrated electronics

  • Implemented voice-activated control to trigger mechanical actions

  • Added LED eye lighting and internal electronics to simulate helmet effects

  • Created a compact internal layout so components fit inside a wearable helmet

How?

  • Used an ESP32, two 12g servos, and an offline voice recognition module to control movement

  • Designed AND wired the internal electronics system for reliable operation

  • Used 3D printed components — custom battery box and servo mechanism that lifts the face plate

  • Iteratively tested, adjusted wiring, and tuned voice commands to improve reliability

Results:

  • Helmet successfully performs voice-triggered movement and LED eye lighting

  • System works consistently during repeated use after testing and troubleshooting

  • Demonstrated integration of mechanical design, electronics, and programming in a single wearable mechatronics project
